Rushing into our lines like a pack of animals we jumped onto the bus the bus was crowded with kids an teachers it was so loud that my ears were going to fall off. Driving on the road we had to jam up and stand up. We were traveling to telstra clear event center to meet Ben Carson,Racing the other bus on the motorway. In the middle of the motorway along came another bus jammed with another school. As we were halfway there It got even louder and louder.

Entering the big and fancy building there was graffiti everywhere of the greatest new Zealand people. We entered the main room eventually we caught up with traffic jams of kids and we tried to squeeze through. Walking straight up the stairs felt like I lost thousands of pounds. Sitting down was a heavenly feeling for me there were a few arrangements with the seats. Along strolled the host and introduced himself he told us wicked stories.

Running up the steps was Ben Carson we were cheering and screaming he came up first there was a movie about how he had grown up as a child the first part showed how he couldn't control his anger. Then he told us how many of us know when our birthday is every one from different schools raise there hands like they were being controlled. Then he said the kids thought he was the dumbest in the class then there was a teacher that hold a rock can anyone tell me whats this is. Ben put his hand up everyone thought that it was going to be funny but he said the right answer.

We rushed back to school in a big hurry.

Duffy Theater

When we entered the hall we saw the little kids cheer and screaming out Duffy. Floating around at the back we saw a glimpse of Duffy and his red shirt. Popping out of the back there was Duffy! The kids were laughing and cheering. Out popped scruffy. Some of the new kids have never ever seen a show before.

The show began with a blast! They were doing their act with crowd cheering. It was so funny for them I thought there heads were going to blow up. There was a part when scruffy and Duffy were beat boxing. Then they had the best book in the world, they picked random people to be the books and two girls to be the door. They were playing as usual. We all had alot of fun and laughter.

The Year of the Net book

This year I have really enjoyed having a Net book to work on because it makes it easier to find information that I need.
Another thing is that I can type faster then before.
There are many reasons why I like net books because it is much better because it is not messy when I write.

As much as I have loved having a Net book there are some things that I haven’t liked because sometimes I get distracted very easy.
The hardest thing is for me not to get distracted easily to games.
The greatest challenge for me is games sometimes I get distracted sometimes not.

Outta This world

You can not live on Neptune, when it rains it rains air bombs. If you want to travel to other peoples houses you can jump into a slide that goes under ground. It pumps air through little holes to the slides and you pop out were you want.

If you wanted to go to another place when your not in the underground slides you could use your rocket fulled bag to fly. And its filled with lots of oxygen so you can breath while you are flying. The tubes underground generate oxygen and pumps it to the floor so if you want to wonder around you don’t need a helmet.

You can travel around on a hover board or a hover car that is powered by a tank of oxygen inside the engine. There is the biggest oxygen tank that pumps oxygen to the other tanks. One tank will last 24 hours.

If you are a new person at Neptune and you don't know what to do there is a hologram that pops out and tells you what you can do. When there is no oxygen in the small tank you can walk trough the wall right were the much bigger tank is. If you want to travel to the other side of Neptune you can go through the fastest elevator on Neptune.

It will be hard to breath air on Neptune and to get from earth.

From Immersion Assembly Term 4 2011

Outta this world was the topic for the term it was time we had something to do about space.

We strolled down the corridor as we entered the hall it was fantastic as we walked by the
teachers with costumes. The whole school just stood there and starred but when came to cheering they were like a flock of animals. Team ones item finished and it was time for the next item team two.

Team two’s item was a rap about mars and all the other planets. They were dancing like robots there were space helmets and wigs and other costumes.
Mr Burt told us stories about Maui and some constellations in the stars. He told us about Manaiakilani how Maui caught the biggest fish and about Kupe.

Team fours item was twinkle twinkle little star with the wiggles Mr Marks and Mr Sommerville were dressed up as girls with little pom poms and tutus we were laughing loudly. As they almost stumbled to the floor as they ran and jumped it was like a train wreck they were all over the place.

I am really looking forward to the term ahead of us.

Shuttle launch

Waiting anxiously I was strapped to my chair the only question on my mind was that was I going to make it through this. The shuttle was going to launch in ten seconds.

Bright, intense flames were shooting out like guns. Booster ignition the commander said, the rocket boosters shook and shudder as we waited for the countdown in fear what was going to happen next?. I was very shaky before the launch.

Nervously the rocket lifted off, our lives were on the line . We left a trail of smoke and fire it was a dangerous adventure our stomachs were shuddering. We were just minutes away from reaching our destination.

The rocket was reaching the blue sky when we were there we went higher and higher until we reached outta space.

Aussie rules

Waiting at the field, room19 suddenly came Megan and Alysa started telling us how to play Aussie rules. Running to get a ball Megan teach us how to hand pass.

The weather was crazy raining at first then next minute sunny. Then the blustering wind kicked
in it was like we had three seasons in a day the wind blew around sand and mud. My eyes were getting wet as I rub my eyes.

We were warming up by playing jumper bumper we had to try and knock over our partner. Then she taught us how to kick the ball straight. We had to run to the court and do the bouncing skill. We had to bounce the ball ten times on the ground and Neal on our knee.

Then we had a game of kick baseball we had split into to teams it was like baseball kicking
ball it went out of the diamond. I got to the first base but Cruz caught the ball. It was a close game but we won.

Crazy town

Driving to town there were a lot of issues going on. It was like feeding time at the zoo. While people were waving flags wildly I stumbled to the ground luckily my mate picked me up .

Shaking with fear I felt like driving back to my house. Beeping in the our horn in the wild traffic we couldn't get out of the madness. What a nightmare it was. At least, I suppose, I could watch the game on TV.

Cross Country

Anxiously waiting to start cross country, my heart was pounding and it just felt like butterflies. I really did not want to run. Nervous excitement filled the air as everyone was eagerly waiting

Approaching the start line Mr Burt said “On your marks, get set, GO!” A burst of speed came out as everyone dashed powering ahead and I was coming first. The undulating track with tight corners twists and turned while I had burning lungs.

As we got halfway it felt like it was never going to end. I challenged myself to come in the top four. My feet were killing me as I slowed down determination and perseverance, when I was on my face.

Puffing my heart out I felt that I was unable to continue. Sprinting to the finish line we saw lots of people cheering as I crossed the finish line. I was surprised that I came third.

I felt good as this day ended with a blast. I was so exhausted that I nearly slept during the last race.

Healthy Diet

All children need a regular healthy meal in there life. If you eat right you can live right. Then you can live a happy and healthy life.

There are four food groups dairy milk products, meat and fish, carbohydrates and fruit and veges. We need limited fatty and sugary food.
Kids need a drink like a milk and water, keep the acidic juices as treats. Healthy food is good for our bodies.

You should only have treats once a week. Do not eat to much junk food other wise your body
will not work properly. So eat those good stuff so your brain and body can work normally and keep fit.

Badminton

Last Thursday we went to badminton with Donna from sport Auckland she told us the two grips. One was the forehand and backhand. Then we all rushed to get a racket and shuttle. Spectacular swings and misses Donna told us come sit down when I blow the whistle.

Serving awkwardly, it was hard to keep eye coordination quick body movements were needed. Collisions between me and my partner as we got use to badminton at pt England. Donna blew her whistle we dashed to the floor. Miss King had to chose a volunteer to help play badminton soccer.

Demonstrating how we were going to play we got up and started playing. Whirring and whizzing ,perseverance and determination we wanted to so badly. Hitting the the shuttle it soared right at the opposition.

Setting up the nets the boys were at one net and the girls at the other. Serving and swinging everyone was out but Uili was the only one staying in. A nice powerful hit spiralled at him he swung his racket, hoping he would hit the shuttle.

Enjoyable fun and enjoyment was on lots of people faces. Lining up for class Miss King told us to stay behind . Me and some other boys to help put the nets down and the rackets in the bag.

I found badminton fun and enjoyable. I found it frustrating too. But at the end I really liked it.

Creamy mushroom and bacon macaroni

First cook the pasta . then Drain and save 1/4 cup cooking water. In a non-stick pan, cook the bacon with onions and mushrooms until softened.then add the pasta and toss it well.

Shanghai noodles

Step 1 Soak or cook your noodles

Step 2 In a large pan or the wok, heat the oils and sauté onion, garlic, capsicum and chilli if using it. Add stock, ginger, lemongrass, sauces and rice wine and mix them well. Stir in noodles and toss to coat, then mix in cornflour and water and allow to thicken for a minute before giving out. Garnish with chopped coriander.

Maple-glazed pork with cranberry and pecan stuffing

step 1 creating the stuffing then you get an onion and add it to the celery.work out cooking time. To butterfly meat, aim to create a rectangular piece of pork reasonably even in thickness. Cut an incision in the longest side of the joint from one end to the other, then slice into the incision to create a top and bottom with a hinge (but don’t slice completely through). Open meat and lay it flat on a board with cut sides facing up. then Cover meat with plastic wrap. Beat with a rolling pin to get even thickness.

Outside in the bay there is a box that is made out of concrete with a tap above it so that people can wash their legs.

Why we did it?

We made our diorama because heaps of people washes their leg at the water fountain where we drink in. So that is why we decided to make something like this.

blocks. Action Mrs King said Uili rolled the marble down the track but it still didn’t work.We kept on trying and trying but it still did not work when the first team was finished they were screaming. There were so many problems with our track we could not see how to finish it.

Today we built straw bridge we split into to teams of 5 we were all arguing about what to do first.So my team split into 2 and Robert as a spare.As we carried on it was starting to come together soon we starting arguing again so me and Vaifoa did the other half of the bridge.we finished the other part of the straw bridge while Uili,Rocky and robert were still working.

Were finished said the girls okay we balance this thousands . We cooperation was very bad then when it was our turn the block fell off.But it was good for a first try.When we were finished we packed up and did the final test.

Straw Towers

Rain pouring down on the first day of term 2, we split into teams of six as the challenge began. We were to build the tallest and strongest tower out of only drinking straws. The teams raced to start building foundations and plan ideas, as they were trying to be creative. In the middle of the of the challenge, Mrs King yelled out 20minutes left to go. We all stepped up our game and starting rushing like crazy people.

When half of our materials were used there were 5minutes left. Cameras coming from different angles. 2minutes to go and we all stabilized our straw towers and tried to organize them at the same time. Stop! We all lifted up our work and put it on the blue table. We did this activity because we had to cooperate with the class and my team came first place. After that Mrs King took a photo of us.

Glee

Singing and dancing while the music was playing Glee got ready for there performance once they got on the stage most of had stage frights.It was very dramatic as movies playing in the back and pictures.Cheering from the other side of the hall they sounded like a herd animals.

When the first item was finished lepa came on the stage he sang a rap about the pt England way.When lepa was rapping jeffty and tevita came up to the front and sang and dance.after all the performances they done a big bow and out for the and assembly finished.

Camp day at swimarama first we had swimming races.In the pool there were lots of fountins we were so hungry that our tummies were roaring and going brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Christchurch earthquake

February 22 2011
On the news last night Christchurch was shaken by a 6.3 magnitude earthquake. They were very devastated by the horrible event. It was heart breaking and the prime minister said it was New Zealand's darkest day. The people were sent to evacuate Christchurch.

There are 65 people reported dead, but that number is expected to rise. Many others are just trapped under all the rubble shouting for help.They can’t see because of all the dust in the air. There houses a wrecked into bits of wood and bricks.

People were running around and screaming looking for their loved ones.Many people were trapped in cars and bleeding.

It happened at 12.51pm on Tuesday there was allot of liquefaction and it was very smelly and there is lots of rubble littering the city.

Christchurch will have to be built again, it will take a while,cor they might never ever finish rebuilding Christchurch.

Guest what we played after lunch time we played tea ball .When we got to where we were playing a man called cola was waiting there for us.He was a pro we split in to two groups the red team and the blue team .He told us how to hit the ball and throw the ball.First up was the red team when it was my turn I hit the ball and I got a home run.Then it was the blue teams turn and we had a good time and the red team won.So we walked back to class.Then we packed up and went home.
