Thank you for taking the time to give us presents and I would like to thank Johnson and Johnson and Motat and also The Variety Club for making this happen. I’d also like to thank all the people who took time off their jobs to rap us the presents. I really appreciated it and I will try and treasure my present as long as it lasts.

Its has been a very cool experience for me because I have never experienced people giving us presents during school randomly. It was such a great day being given a mystery present it was wrapped perfectly I loved it. Thank you very much to all the helper that made this happen and have a happy Christmas.

Action World

Pulling up in front of action world our eyes expanded as we glared at the really towering obstacles we could do. So we walked in towards the gate one by one as all of us entered we all felt like running around like mad people but we had to stay. The teachers introduced us to all the people in charge of their obstacles. We split into four groups hopped in a line and went off . First We tried the high fall after a couple of turns the horn blew and we went to the next obstacle.

Next we tried the rock climbing wall but before we could climb to the very top and ring the bell we had to practise falling on our backs. After everyone had a go we switched to the next obstacle and on and on until we had our little lunch break. While stuffing food in our mouths they opened the high wire and the jousting bridge.

After a while of eating my stomach was full and they announced that we could have free time for the rest of the day. So off we ran running like a herd of wild animals jumping on all the obstacles we wanted to stay the whole day but we knew that we couldn’t. I tried out the crazy ladder and failed but I wanted to try and finish it but again I failed.

Next I went to the jungle swing one swing then the second and then the third when I reached the fourth my arms started to strain my grip was worn out and then suddenly my hands just slipped and I fell down to the soft mats. After another while of playing around we had

REFLECTION WRITING


When I was new at point england school I had received a chromebook for the year to use to do work.Having the opportunity to have a chromebook/netbook was a huge experience for me.It really helped me to imrove in my learning and others as well.


The special thing that I learnt this year from my teacher was to work hard and communicate with others.The key things that my teacher has taught me this year was to do the best you can,try your best and to be the best you can .My teacher for 2013 was Miss King.

I have learnt a few things which are:


-How to take care of my chromebook


-The point england way


-Be a role model


-Treat others respectfully(especially elders)


-Be honest


And also to be kind to others that are around you.


I have learnt many things from my family which was to be humble,to listen to your teacher,Show some manners,help out,don't be cocky,sharing is caring(NOT LUNCH) and I have made many connections around the world by our blogs for the past few years.


I have helped out other people by teaching them new things that they have not known.

Nelson Mandela's Life

Nelson Mandela, the man who fought against racism. He wanted the blacks africans to be treated equally with the whites. Nelson Mandela was known for making equality between the white and black people. His real was  Rolihlahla mandela he was really determined to make equality. He put his life on the line for his country.

Rolihlahla Mandela was born on july 18,1918 in Mvezo, Transkei. Rolihlahla Mandela was his real full name. He attended primary school in Qunu where his teacher gave him a christian name, Nelson. His teacher, Miss Mdingane gives every student a christian, So now he was known as Nelson Mandela. Nelson complete his junior certificate and began his studies on Bachelor of arts at university college.

Nelson Mandela was arrested for going against his country and trying to bring peace between white and dark skinned people. He was arrested for 27 years in jail but he did not give up. Nelson Mandela was later released from jail in 1990 feb 11. He was very determined

After being in jail for several decades, he was released at Cape Town. After that He was elected for president at the age of 75.Also he was the very first black man the be president of South

Africa. Many black african were running and blowing trumpets.  

Nelson mandela was later in hospital diagnosed with prostate cancer he was in was later released from hospital where he died at the age 95.

Nelson Mandela gives the world a lot of things that we can learn from, like being treated equal even though you're not the same skin colour. love one and another. Defend your country. Dont matter how hard life can be keep your head up and keep on going forward, and fight for the right.

Swimming

For the past two weeks we have been swimming at the YMCA pools in Glen Innes. But sometimes I would not bring my togs because the lack of memory. Strolling to the pools we had to take in the burning sun. First we would walk towards our instructors and wait for their command.  But before we could do anything we had to see how good we were at swimming. After most kids finished we all split into groups.

Splashing the water everywhere the instructor told us to kick our feet as fast as we could and our arms would move at a medium pace. Back and forth we went trying our hardest to do our best. Sometimes we would give up and stand up in the pool. Glaring at the other side of the pool we could just feel that relief that we would have a brake.

Falling Satellite

A huge satellite fell in somewhere around in the atlantic ocean it fell in an burned in the atmosphere. Some bits of it fell into Eastern Asia and the Western Pacific but there luckily no

one was injured.

They called it ‘Ferrari Of Space’ because of it slick design, It was designed to fall to earth after its fuel ran out. Scientist believe that most of the body bits have been burnt as it was falling down.

Writing Sample

The wind blew Terry’s hair as her stubby legs carried her to the end of the empty street. Suddenly she saw something walk by. Terry was going to have a good look to see if it was actually a person so she walked a little bit further. Up against the wall she quickly poked her head out but there was no man there was just the wind kicking leaves. Suddenly she felt the wind drop and it was just calm and silent “weird” Terry thought in her mind. When she turned around she saw some more things walk by she wanted to investigate some more but her fear rose higher and higher every second she was in the place.

Deciding between walking home or staying in an abandon house she asked herself “which one is easier for me”?. So she decided that she would stay in the abandoned area until the sun rose for the next day. So off she skipped looking at all the houses, after a period of time she found just the right house to stay in for the night so she anxiously walked in through the wide open door. Surprisingly it still had every cupboard  everything that you need in a house.

She gently pushed the door “Screech” the door went “click” the door closed she took a deep breath and took one step at a time. The sunlight turned into darkness it was Terry’s worst nightmare  she leaped onto the couch and covered her whole body with blankets she started to regret staying here. But suddenly she heard a footstep she grew in fear when suddenly a hand touched her “Aaaaaah” she screamed as she threw off the blankets and ran to the other side of the house. But then the was a voice “Little girl its alright” she poked her head out to have a look this time it was an actual human being .

She shyly walked towards this stranger but she took little baby steps “what are you doing here” asked the stranger “ I-I I’m staying here for the night” replied Terry. “Come on little girl I’ll take you in the morning” the stranger answered. The darkness turned into brightness “Its morning already” she thought. She stomped upstairs to go wake up the stranger she shook his bed as hard as she could he woke up with a huge yawn “ok little girl lets walk you back to town”.

So off they went.

The Spooky House

I glared at the paper in my hand and quickly checked the box to see if I was at the right place and there It was the right destination. I was really trembling inside and reluctant to go in . The house looked spooky . I took a deep breath and started walking on the rocky driveway,  the rocks crunched as I took one step at a time. But I Didn't see the house because the house was partly hidden by the gigantic bushes.  

My First Day of School

Jumping out of the car I walked  with my mum as she guided me through the hallways and through the gardens of Pt England School. Arriving to my class I gripped my mum's hand tightly. “Get in there “ mum said but I refused so than I hid behind her tall black shadow. Suddenly she went so I had no chance. I entered i n and quickly and rocked down to the  back. I sat there just stiff and quiet then the teacher introduced me to the class,When she did I just stood there like a pole. Not one word slipped out of my mouth. Staunchly I walked back and I sat on the nice warm carpet.

Suddenly the bell rang and the class all stampeded off. But I just sat there.  Suddenly  Miss Wild told me to run off and get some lunch so I did. I ran down to the playground hoping that no one would come up to me and talk. But my luck ran out a boy came and tried to talk to me and suddenly I froze for a while then I said “hello” so than we  became friends.

“Ring Ring “ the bell screamed all the children ran as fast as they could. Back into the class I went still sitting at the back. “Okay class lets do some reading”demanded the teacher. We all grabbed a book and read, like read until our eyes started to cramp but really none of us knew how to read so we just stalked the pages. We all walked exhaustedly to the mat. “RING RING” the bell rang “off you go” said Miss WIld we all scampered away outside.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving  is a time to be grateful for things. Countries  that celebrate ThanksGiving are Liberia,Norfolk Island,Canada,Puerto Rico and United states.  When people celebrate they have a big dinner usually with a big turkey. Thanksgiving is on the 4th thursday in november for USA Norfolk Island it is on the last wednesday of November, In liberia first thursday in november, and November 27th is Puerto Rico.

On the first thanksgiving many of them played games sang songs but many of them could not eat in 1621. The first thanksgiving lasted for 3 days. Each year the President declares thanksgiving day.

Every year they will hold hands and say what they a greatful  for. I am grateful for my parents my family and everything.  

Many people today still celebrate Thanksgiving and I well known around the world.

Labour Day

Labour day is a public holiday for schools and many businesses and including some government offices. In the 19th century new zealand workers tried to claim the rights for a 8 hour working day. In 1840 Samuel Parnell fought for Wellingtons right for the 8 hour day and won. The first that labour day was celebrated was in 1890 October 28th.

The first official Labour day was in Wednesday October 1990. But they have moved the day to the 4th of monday and has remained on this day ever since.  There are also many different Labour celebrations. America celebrates it to but they do it for the workers achievements.

Many people gathered together for this and paraded down many streets but only in the City Central areas.In canada labour day is meant to honor and celebrate workers and the importance of their lives.

This is a world wide celebration and most of all have it is one of the best holidays for workers and students.

40 minute writing

This morning we had 40 minutes to write about anything I wanted. From this we are going to set some goals for the term. Here i what I wrote.

Dramatically the ball came flying towards me I caught it. It was my first time getting the ball so I rocked up to the defence line then in the last second I dummied and the defence opened . So I hit the gap but I saw a defender chasing me as hard as he could so I ran as fast as my legs could go. The only person standing between me and the try was the  fullback and then I saw team-mates on the outside. So I threw the ball as hard as I could.

I glared at the ball as it flew through the air.

It was silent when I threw the ball. As the crowd stared anxiously waiting for the catch. He caught it the crowd screamed but there was the fullback chasing and caught him I ran as fast as I could. The ball was offloaded I got there just as the ball was going to touch the ground but somehow I caught it. Running to the 30 than the 20 and the 10  I dived in between the goal post.

It was was the best feeling ever when I got my first ever try. Then after the game we congratulated the other team so we celebrated with the other team.

I think that I have to work on my vocabulary and my punctuation. My goals are to try and get better at using my words and my punctuation. And my last goal is to try and make sense.
Include more information for the reader in my introduction. Make sure all my sentences are full sentences and use correct grammar. Use a variety of sentences to make my writing more interesting.

Rainbow Warrior Bombing

Suspicious activity was going around mechanics bay.Two men hopped on a dingy and motored towards the party going that was going on in the rainbow warrior.The suspicious me got closer and closer to the boat, the men dived into the water and swam towards the boat. These men carried bombs with them. ing

They stealthily swam underneath the boat and attached bombs to the bottom of the boat.  The two men quickly swam away hopped inside there dingy and BOOM the first bomb went off. The party was still going on once the first bomb everyone yelled “ABANDON SHIP ABANDON SHIP”. After 4 minutes the second bomb went off luckily everyone jumped off except for Fernando Pereira.

Sadly he got killed by these bombs. The investigation started, on the night of the bombing there was a man seen with diving gear. After coming ashore there was a van waiting for them. They hopped in and told the other spies in the van to drive. Within 30 hours they found the two drivers they were interviewed and eventually arrested.

bit. So Jack said “Did you know that today is my three
sons’ birthday?” “How old are they?” Ray asked taking
the bite. “I’ll give you a hint. The product of their ages is
36 and the sum of their ages is 13,” Jack replied. “That’s
no help,” said Ray. So Jack weakened and gave him
another clue. “O.K. My youngest son is very naughty.”
“Nothing to it,” exclaimed Ray and he told Jack the
correct ages of his sons.

Cross Country

I had butterflies in my stomach just waiting on the start line Mr. Burt sounded the microphone. We all ran from one side of the field to the other we ran from corner to corner.Running  out of school grounds we trampled all over the mud making it even harder to run. Everyone strived to do there but me and my friends led  the race.

We led the race for the first lap than my throat was starting to dry and my stitch was getting to me. Suddenly Three people sprinted passed so I paced myself to stay in 4th place you could see it in everyones eyes that they wanted to win. They were deeply concentrated .

We finished the race I came 4th equal with Wyatt I tried my hardest and came out with a good outcome.

Prospective Student

Desperately climbing for dear life the boy was scared of the towering mountain. All of a sudden his hand slipped. Quickly he held on the ledge of the mountain. The breeze pushed against his face which made this even harder. Struggling to pull himself up he thought he was going to fall but his determination was overpowering. He reached the top he waited at the top to catch his breath. “Phew that was tough” he said quietly.

He walked towards the door of the dojo to his amazement the door was gigantic he waited in front of the door suddenly the door opened the sensei popped out he glared at the boy and then pointed to the right and slammed the door . The student thought he had to prove himself so he meditated day and night. He opened his eyes and the sensei was standing right in front of him.

But then again he still pointed to the left and slammed the door. So the student walked down the stairs and then anger began growing inside him. So he went back knocked on the door and the sensei came out the student dramatically made his stance.

Still the sensei pointed to  the left and slammed the door shut so he looked too the left “Use the side entrance” it said the student was embarrassed.

Twisted Fairytale

Once  upon a time there was a little boy, named Little Purple Riding Hood. He was playing outside his yard then his mum said, “son could you please go and give grandpa these cookies, He replied, “Yes, Mum”. He jumped on his bike and pedaled away into the dangerous woods, where there was a legend that said “If you dare enter, Watch out!”, but He did not know anything.

As he was peddling, he saw some scary eyes lurking out of the bushes. Also he heard some scary noises like, Awwww, BLEHH and Ewwwlaa, “Man I need to get out of these woods,” he thought to him self. Then his tire popped. He was so scared because it was getting pretty dark. Suddenly a scary bloody Zombie jumped out of the bush and said “BRAINS, BRAINS”.  Little Purple riding hood had an accident in his pant’s, he dropped his bike and ran as fast as he could. He ran and ran until he could run no more. Just as he was about to collapse he saw a strange candy house and jumped through the window.  

He looked inside the room and saw a witch fast asleep on the couch and a phone next to her. I needed to call home to tell his mum what had happened. He sneaked into the room and took the phone but it was cut. Then the witch woke up and chased the Boy into the lounge. Then he saw a escape pod and jumped in it and Flew away

Then he reached the Grandpas house and Parachuted down and entered the house. As he was walking he was Calling his grandpas name “Anthony, GRANDPA?”. Then sitting on the bed was Three pig’s then I wondered if I had gotten the right house, but I had gotten the right address.

But then I heard a Sound in the Basement, I went in and he was in a Coffin Looked, screaming help, so then I went and got him I gave him his cookie’s and left. The End:)
